St. John’s – Tomorrow morning, Dr. Kris Vascotto, will speak about the realities of world seafood markets and the critical role sustainability plays in reshaping the fishery of the future. Dr. Vascotto’s presentation is part of the Emerging Opportunities session at the Newfoundland and Labrador Environmental Industry Association’s Newleef Conference.
Where: The presentation will take place at The Holiday Inn in St. John’s, NL.

When: The session begins 9h15 and Dr. Vascotto is expected to speak approximately 10h15.
Dr. Vascotto’s presentation will include a world-view on seafood, from its environmental footprint to changing global markets and expectations. He’ll explain the critical role of sustainability certifications and why sustainability must guide the approach to resource management in Atlantic Canada.
With a doctorate from the University of Toronto and extensive experience in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, Dr. Vascotto brings a unique perspective and wealth of knowledge to help both inform industry and to help further improve the sustainability of marine Groundfish fisheries in Canada.
